'Twas a big night with a little history mixed in.

The Blue Jackets waltzed into Philadelphia on Thursday and walked out with their two most crucial points of the season, grabbing a 5-3 regulation win over the Flyers that pulled them even on points for third in the Metropolitan Division.

It's the kind of win that keeps momentum rolling and also tells a team "OK, we can do this."

Cam Atkinson was at the forefront, scoring two important goals then adding an empty netter with less than a second remaining. It marked the fourth hat trick of his career, moving past Tyler Wright (3) into second place on the Blue Jackets' all-time list, one behind Rick Nash (5).

The Blue Jackets (38-28-5) have won six straight games – equaling their longest streak of the season – and are back home Saturday night to face the Ottawa Senators.
